Best Indoor Photoshoot Locations

Drew Barrymore says, “whenever you can, go out into the rain, do not miss the opportunity.” For the most part, I agree, except when you’re trying to photograph food, headshots, or anything else you don’t want ruined. It’s also currently summer in Texas and it’s a thousand degrees outside. So, I think we can all agree it’s time to move this conversation inside so you can experience some of my favorite Dallas photoshoot locations.

Whether you’re looking for a minimalist approach with a lot of natural light or a setup of beautiful vignettes, these blank canvases and eclectic styled spaces are some the best rentable spaces in Dallas for brand photographers, event planners, and the like. Check out this recent reel I compiled that highlights how you can utilize these great rentable spaces and studios in Dallas.

1. THE LUMEN ROOM: WHITE

4301 Bryan Street, Suite 302, Dallas, TX 75204 – 1,300 sqft

The Lumen Room in Dallas is the perfect blank white canvas. The loft is flooded with natural light and has a variety of bright-colored eclectic sofas, chairs, tables, and stools to play with, which is perfect for headshots, branding photoshoots, and family sessions alike. This is one of my first recommendations as a Dallas branding photographer because clean natural light is essential to depicting both personal and commercial brands in good light (no pun intended).

Pro tip: Bring props, like my favorite – disco balls – to add personality to your shoot.

2. THE SPACE ON SOUTH SIDE

4218 Main Street, Dallas, TX 75226 – 2,100 sqft

Dallas photography studio, The Space on South Side, has an upstairs and downstairs, and each space can be rented separately or as a whole. The downstairs is a classic modern loft with concrete floors and loads of natural light. The upstairs is a boudoir setting with chic décor, including sheer curtains, a chandelier, bed and two sofas for a cozy, soft, and glowing look.

Pro tip: rent both spaces at once to utilize the variety of settings the Space on South Side provides!

3. RETRO LOFT FROM PEERSPACE

Downtown/Cedars, Dallas, TX – 1,701 sqft

Want to time travel back to the 70’s for your personal branding photoshoot? This Peerspace Retro Loft located downtown in the Cedars is groovy from wall-to-wall. It has all the retro vibes we know and love- exposed brick, wood floors, shag rugs, a golden records wall, plush carpets, velvet headboard, and lots of additional props to use. It’s so rad you have to promise to show me the pics after your shoot here.

4. THE MASON DALLAS

115 S Beckley Ave Dallas, TX 75203 – 10,000 sqft

The grand hall, the drawing room, the reception hall, the parlor, and the bridal suite make up this 100-year-old special event venue known as The Mason Dallas. Its glitz, glamour, textures, and vignettes will leave you with endless options for beautiful photos. I have captured both personal branding photography and bridal portraits in this space – it’s super versatile and elegant.

5. STOCK AND SEED

Argyle, TX – 2,700 sqft

Stock and Seed is a 4 bed/4bath show house built on 3 acres and is the perfect Scandinavian ranch-style farmhouse designed by DIY Network Stars the Hayhurst Brothers. From top to bottom this home comes styled with everything you would need for your lifestyle photoshoot or event. I love Stock and Seed for both personal and commercial branding photography because it provides incredible natural light and a beautifully styled home environment – which can always be a challenging find as a branding photographer!

6. HOUSE OF DIRT

408 West 7th Street, Dallas, TX 75208 – 2,000 sqft

The House of DIRT is just as cool and eclectic as Bishop Arts itself. Located in the Bishop Arts District of Dallas, this intimate home has four different areas to give your wedding and brand photography plenty of variety. Mix-matched pieces create a cozy and cohesive atmosphere that make it a one-of-a-kind venue. If you’re into plants and eclectic décor – this is your kinda place. I’m a huge plant person myself so this was a perfect fit for my own personal branding photoshoot that you’ll see below!

7. BLACK AND LIGHT STUDIO

2650 Midway Road, #222, Carrollton, TX 75006 – 2,100 sqft

You guys- I love fun, colorful furniture and adding in a good prop for my personal branding photoshoots and professional headshot sessions. If you’re in the market for an incredible space with tons of room to work in AND the biggest selection of props – Black and Light Studio is a perfect fit for you. Black and Light Studio has amazing natural light and a variety of colorful furniture which makes it one of my favorite studios to rent.

8. THE LUMEN ROOM: LIFESTYLE

4301 Bryan Street, Suite 303, Dallas, TX 75204 – 1,200 sqft

The Lumen Room: Lifestyle is a classic loft with large windows for natural light and exposed brick for those shots that need a little texture. It’s a great space because it provides a convenient blank canvas as well as options with a little more visual interest (exposed red brick and elegant paneled wall). They also provide additional furniture props and have a space for wardrobe and wardrobe changes.

9. VIRGIN HOTELS DALLAS

1445 Turtle Creek Blvd, Dallas, TX 75207 – 16-story high rise

I know we’re supposed to be indoors, but if you need me, I’ll be by the pool at the Virgin Hotel in Dallas. That being said, this hotel takes art to another level, and it’s interior is so cool. From the lobby to the library, to the club, to a room, to the pool with a killer view- every step through the hotel radiates a sexy, creative vibe. Think elevated art deco. In other words, you’ll want to shoot here time and time again, although you will need to contact their marketing department to request permission first. This is one of my favorite locations as a Dallas branding photographer because not only is it visually interesting, it is also unique to Dallas specifically.
