New Years’ Eve Disco Themed Photoshoot
Panic at the Disco reference? Clever, maybe. Tastefully used? Probably not.
Jokes and Panic at the Disco references aside- around the world, NYE sounded a lot quieter this year. We all know that 2020 was a year full of unexpected challenges, hardships, and stress related to the COVID-19 pandemic. To brighten spirits and find a safe way to celebrate, I offered my New Years’ Eve Disco themed mini sessions to my Dallas clients, and they were a hit!
Social distancing is luckily an easy standard to maintain as a photographer, and all the necessary precautions were made to make sure clients were safe while they had a blast!

The Location
For the location, I chose a wide open studio space here in Dallas where there was plenty of room to practice social distancing safely and comfortably. The simplicity of the space was the perfect backdrop to show off my clients’ glam looks.
The Outfits
My clients and I really wanted to turn up the glamour and go all out when it came to the outfits! Several of my clients used their Rent the Runway monthly subscription which provided them with gorgeous glam options that didn’t break the bank.
If you don’t have Rent the Runway, another great option I like to recommend my photography clients is purchasing from is Lulus.com. They offer a variety of great dresses that are affordable yet look expensive.
The Props
You can’t have a NYE photoshoot without disco balls and champagne, amirite?! You can find disco balls at vintage shops, party stores, and of course, online! I found these on Amazon. Combined with this gorgeous green velvet couch provided by the Lumen Room studio, this photoshoot just screams luxe.

Although there are restrictions in place when it comes to public celebrations, this doesn’t automatically mean that your New Year’s Eve is ruined—it simply means that you’ll have to get a little more creative.
