WINTER WEDDINGS

January in Dallas is more like spring weather for my friends back in New England. Don’t get me wrong, I love the snow-covered grounds, a warm crackling fireplace, and all the green pines and red berry accents that you get in New England winter weddings. That being said, I’d be lying if I didn’t admit how much I love winter weddings here in Dallas. Mild weather, calm air, and a blank canvas make winter a great time to get married in Dallas. Plus- your favorite Dallas wedding photographers, wedding venues, and other vendors tend to have more availability during the winter so you’re more likely to be able to assemble your dream team for your wedding!

RUSTIC GRACE ESTATE

Briana and Jackson planned their winter wedding at a stunning DFW wedding venue, just about an hour north of Dallas. Rustic Grace Estate is known for its quintessential charm and vintage-inspired feel. This Dallas wedding venue’s rustic red barn was built in the 1920s and has housed over 500 weddings throughout the years. Offering wide-open spaces, wood rafters, and vintage-styled brick silos, the barn provides a tasteful blank canvas perfect for an elegant country wedding. Plus the grounds are absolutely gorgeous too.

BRIANA + JACKSON’S RUSTIC WINTER WEDDING

Briana and Jackson’s day together began by sharing a sweet private letter reading at the base of the silos. Then they headed over to the estate’s quaint, white chapel to exchange vows before friends and family. It was an intimate ceremony, filled with personal touches special to this lovely couple. As a wedding photographer, some of my favorite photos are the special touches and carefully chosen details that are unique and hold deep meaning to my couples. For example, Briana and Jackson chose to incorporate a tying of the unity knot into their ceremony to symbolize the strength of their bond and the weaving together of their lives.

Pro tip #1: Remember that wedding ceremonies don’t need to follow “traditional” guidelines, and you can incorporate just about anything that is important to you!

Pro tip #2: As your wedding photographer, I strongly encourage you to reserve at least 30-45 minutes for couples portraits so we can take advantage of all the great photo locations your venue has to offer.

After the ceremony, I got to walk the gorgeous grounds of Rustic Grace with Briana and Jackson for their couples portraits. Briana and Jackson were sweet, fun, and full of laughter, and were totally up for all of my photo ideas. We allotted a good amount of time for portraits, so not only were we able to capture so many beautiful images, but we also allowed Briana and Jackson time to relax and enjoy a cocktail together before rejoining their guests for the reception.

This wedding was so much fun to be a part of, and I could go on and on but I think I’ll let the photos show you the rest! Thank you to Briana and Jackson for including me in your special day. Congratulations, you two! Here are some of my favorite photos from their wedding day.
