September Wedding at The Inn at Mystic Connecticut
THE INN AT MYSTIC
If you want a beautiful wedding venue full of history, charm, and picturesque landscapes that would make a Victorian novel jealous, then the Haley Mansion at the Inn at Mystic Connecticut is the place for you. Situated over fourteen acres of beautiful scenery overlooking Fishers Island Sound and Mystic Harbor, the Inn at Mystic was once a private estate, but it’s now one of Connecticut’s most historic inns. And it just might be one of the most picturesque wedding venues I’ve photographed as a wedding photographer!
Built in 1904, the Haley Mansion is the centerpiece of the Mystic CT resort and sits atop a rolling hill surrounded by gorgeous landscapes. A Colonial Revival mansion, this popular wedding venue has deep history in the town of Mystic and has hosted weddings and other special events for over a century. Basically, if walls could talk I like to think the ones inside the Inn at Mystic Connecticut would be singing songs of love.
A SEPTEMBER FALL WEDDING IN CONNECTICUT
Luckily, as beautiful as the venue was for this wedding, the weather was equally gorgeous. While some September days can be sticky humid like the end of August, early fall days in Mystic CT tend to be clear, sunny and pleasant. It turned out to be the perfect backdrop for Peter and Tori’s fun-filled day.
Pro Tip #1: You’re always taking a bit of gamble when you plan an outdoor wedding. Betting on the weather isn’t easy, especially when you pick a date during a seasonal transition like summer to fall. As a wedding photographer, I’ve seen some great wedding venues pivot without issue when those unexpected weather changes roll in. Make sure your venue can accommodate unexpected weather like heavy rains or wind. Also, to help your guests be comfortable, you may want to consider wedding favors – like paper fans or sunglasses – that your wedding guests can use to cool off during a heatwave.
PETER & TORI
Peter and Tori are such a fun couple, full of life and love. You could tell that they poured themselves into every detail of their event and that they had a lot of fun doing it. From their sweet wedding party gifts and stylish donut and cupcake dessert bar, to fun lawn games, a live painter, and a first dance performance to remember, they gave their friends and family an immersive wedding experience they won’t soon forget!
Pro Tip #2: Don’t be afraid to have fun! Plan for the moments that make you smile and there’s no way you’ll regret it. Even Peter and Tori’s wedding party got into the spirit and found unique ways to make their reception entrance before the first dance.
Peter and Tori brought so much love and laughter to their special day and it just flowed into all of their guests. It really was so much fun to be their wedding photographer and be a part of their day. Congratulations you two! Here’s a collection of my favorite photos from their wedding day.
