After spending the past 6 years working as a branding photographer in Dallas and shooting in various studios around the city, I’ll be opening up my very own space: Brightside Studios!

 

It’s a dream come true to be able to open up my own photography studio in Dallas and use it to create content for the brands I work with. But, what I’m most excited for is the opportunity to give other photographers and creatives a versatile space to work their magic in. I’m really looking forward to adding something to Dallas’ thriving community of creatives. Living in and growing my business in Dallas for the past 7 years has been a gift of personal growth that I never would have received without taking the leap to move here, and I’m excited to leave my “mark” on this city in the form of a creative multi-purpose studio space.

As a Dallas branding photographer, I’ve had the pleasure of working with a wide variety of clients and creating content for them in different studio settings. Over the years, I’ve been able to pinpoint what works best for my client and the needs of the brands I collaborate with. What always stood out to me are three key elements: tons of beautiful natural light, a traditional blank white wall canvas, and versatile lifestyle spaces. While many studios offered one or even two of these features, I found it hard to find a space that offered all three. The need for a space that combined all these elements is what brought Brightside Studios to life. 

 

Tons of Natural Light

The studio is located in a 1500-feet renovated industrial building right outside of the Dallas Design District. With east-facing floor-to-ceiling windows and large west-facing rear windows, the studio is flooded with natural light. In my career as a branding photographer, natural light has allowed me to capture images that have an authentic and bright look to them. So when searching for the space to be the home of Brightside Studios, consistent natural light was paramount.

For those of you who love artificial light or want to add supplementary lighting to your photos, there are led-lights and c-stands in our studio available for use. 

 

Traditional Blank Wall Canvas

While shooting in Dallas photography studios that are lifestyle-focused, it was usually hard to come by a large blank white wall that I could use for my headshots and clean branding photos. At Brightside Studios, we have a large blank white wall available for use, and it’s located close to the floor-to-ceiling windows in the studio. If you’re looking to have a more colorful background for your photos, there are multiple seamless paper rolls available in the studio to use as well. 

 

 

Lifestyle Spaces

In addition to the blank white wall canvas, the studio has a living room setting, a kitchenette setting and a conference room setting. The living room space has cozy and minimalistic design, and it has props like plants, books, decorations and wall art. The space is perfect for shoots that require a more personal touch and a home environment. The kitchenette setting (that is currently still being built) will have a subway tile backsplash, modern white cabinets, wood floating shelves, wood butcher block countertops and a large island. If you’re a food or product photographer, you are going to especially love the amount of space the kitchen provides you with to prep and style your shoot.

For shoots that need a business professional environment, the conference room setting will be the spot to shoot in. It has a dry-white erase board, a table, and chairs. The setting also makes for a great spot for a brain-storming session. 

All the sections in Brightside Studios are versatile and customizable. With the props and movable furniture, you have the freedom to create a setting that works best for whatever needs you may have. You can also bring in your props if you want to add a personal touch to the work you create in the space. I’m so excited to share the space with the city, and to see all the types of content that will be created in the space.
